Toronto, Ontario.

I'm in beautiful Toronto, Canada at the moment, blogging from my cousin Michelle's house. I haven't seen her for over 5 years! We've been catching up, shopping, eating at nice restaurants, laughing about the weird things Canadians and Australians say and do, and talking cute boys, haha. Or maybe just me, because I'm there to see her walk down the aisle.

When I travel I always prefer to stay longer and to really get to know the city, and really appreciate all the places and things it has to offer. So I've been very fortunate to have a real "Torontonian" show me the city, and man, is it big and spread out!

My favourite fashion find so far, has been an exclusively Canadian brand called Aritzia. I really love their clothes, which are kind of a cross between Topshop in terms of fabrics, colours and patterns, with American Apparel's simple styles and cuts. Unfortunately they don't have an online store yet. But I'll definitely be keepking track of them here: www.aritzia.ca/

Oh, and there are some darn cute Canadian guys, hanging around Queen St West. Toronto makes a great first impression, or in my case an even better second impression.

Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye

Well, I'm off to see the world again. I'm flying to Honolulu first for a few nights, before heading to Toronto, Canada. Gonna visit my extended family, and do a little exploring of my own. It's my first time traveling solo. I'm so excited! I'll be attending my cousin's wedding, who I haven't seen since I was sixteen. I'd love to really get to know the city, and live a little differently for a while. Who knows? Maybe meet a cute Canadian boy or two? Probably not. Heh. I'll be too busy shopping :P

Also, since its so close, I'm taking a quick flight to New York for a week before heading home. Oh, how I've missed this city! It'll be good to go back and see all the things I missed last time. By the way, My friend and I were totally devastated when we found out the big piano (from the movie Big) at FAO Shwarz is just for kids. Not. Cool. 

Anyways. This might be my last blog for a while. I say 'might' because I don't seem to be able to use Blogger Mobile from an Australian mobile, and I haven't figured out another alternative just yet.

"It Smells Like Marshmallows"

I hate the strong chemical smell of nail polish remover. It makes me feel so sick everytime I want to change nail polish, which is somewhat often. I was on the Vogue forums a while ago and saw the Chanel Nail Polish Remover Appreciation Thread. It apparently smells like perfume, is gentle on your nails, and works really well. So I tried it out...

The verdict? This. Smells. Divine. Finally, a nail polish remover that doesn't make you want to gag, and I actually like the smell! My male friend thought the smell was marshmallows! Haha. It's a smaller bottle, but a little goes a long way compared to others that I've tried. I think it's worth the thirty-five dollars for it from David Jones. My lungs and stomach are still thanking me.

Gorilla Manor is the debut album from L.A. five-piece band Local Natives. I am absolutely in love with this album at the moment. They sound to me, like the love-child of Fleet Foxes and Grizzly Bear [Hah, just realised they're both animals in their names].

I haven't been listening to a lot of new music over the last year sadly, but these guys made a big impression on me. My friend was playing them in her car, and I ended up buying their album the very next day. Haven't stopped listening since. They also do a decent cover of Talking Heads' 'Warning Sign'.

Beyond The Pole. An Arctic Comedy.

After the long True Blood season 2 marathon I had last night, I still can't get Alexander Skarsgard off my brain, hehe. Thankfully, not only is Alexander in all seriousness, sex on legs, he also happens to be a great actor. I'm actually trying to track down some of his Swedish movies (over the last few years, I've really developed a love of foreign films). But anyways, one of his new movies coming out is a British film called Beyond The Pole, and from the trailer I saw, it looks so hilarious!

Brian and Mark are setting out on the first carbon neutral, organic, vegetarian expedition ever to attempt the North Pole. Simultaneously Saving the Planet and getting into the Guinness Book of Records they hope to kill two birds with one stone. Unfortunately, they have never done anything like this before. 

Its still going through the festivals I think, but I can't wait to see it.
