Lego my eggo

Hi all. It's been a while since my last post. I had some ongoing health issues, but I'm happy to be blogging again. I've got a few things coming up so check in now and again!

Last Sunday, my friends and I geeked out at the Perth Adult Lego Society display in Claremont. All the streets, scenes and buildings were constructed from Lego, with working ferris wheels and trains. Each time we went around we spotted little details we missed, like Batman and the Batmobile cruising through the city, and Star Wars characters popping up in random places. I think my favourite things were the Transperth buses; they were so real in their likeness!

All I could think of when I saw this "Follow Your Bliss" sign, was Jack from 'Will & Grace' doing his Cher impression! Follow Your Bliss!

Love Locks: Around The World

Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne, Germany -  Tree shaped structures on the Luzhkov Bridge in Downtown Moscow, Russia - N Seoul Tower in Seoul, South Korea - Great Wall near Beijing, China - Pont des Arts in Paris, France
Carving your sweetheart's initials into a tree is evidently a thing of the past. I've just learned about the custom of "love padlocks". The craze can be found all over the world, but it's particularly popular in Europe and in China. Travelers and locals are attaching personalised locks to public structures like bridges, gates, and fences, and throwing away the key to symbolize their undying love. These padlocks are engraved or marked with names, dates, or messages marking personal sentiments of love - be it for lovers, friends, family or for their city. One was even started in Wollongong, Sydney last year. I don't think I've ever come across any in Perth. Not to encourage vandalism or anything, but if there isn't already a love wall/bridge/gate/fence in Perth, than I hope someone starts one. I think its sweet.

I recently came across this really fun and interesting blog called Sweet Station. That first picture just made me laugh out loud. So I wanted to mention it in a post before I added it to my links.

Sweet Station features work from all different fields like
