I'm feeling re-energized after an impossible last two weeks. Finally found a little inspiration for a new post, and it comes in the form of miss Adele. A friend of mine recently got me thinking about curvy women, and feeling comfortable with yourself. I've always known Adele from her incredible, soulful voice; but until now I never gave her sense of style much thought.

Isn't she just dreamy? Incredibly talented, classy, and and seems so comfortable in her own skin its impossible not to feel inspired by her. Hopefully it gets cold enough this winter, 'cause I think I'll be channeling her style. A-line skirts, capes and coats, classic pieces, seem to be her signature. But there's a playful twist about her look that's so cute and girly. I love this lady.

Ear Cuffs

So, I've never had my ears pierced before. Some people tell me that its weird, but I don't see why. Who needs pierced ears though, when you can wear these! I'd never heard of... ear cuffs, but I just stumbled across these ones and was completely charmed. They're are made by Anni Jurgensen, from Style Hurricane. I think I might just have to order a few.

Polaroid Cam-er-rah!

My "new" Polaroid Spirit 600 camera. I thrifted this little beauty for $24.99, which isn't too bad I think, considering its excellent condition. I'm yet to test it, as I now have to find film for it first. A bit of a shame it didn't come with the flash but either way it makes for a nice display item. 

If your're not familiar with Polaroid cameras, the film is very expensive, and even harder to find since they ceased production in 2008. I'm told that Kmart, Big W, and Kodak stores sell film, but I haven't seen any for a 600 camera. So if you know a place that sells it, please shoot me an email! There's some floating around eBay for a steep price. But then I learned about The Impossible Project. These polaroid enthusiasts from the Netherlands, essentially saved the instant camera from becoming obsolete! Thanks to their team, polaroid film remains in production, and they continue to invent new materials for traditional polaroid cameras. Sunday Afternoons

My Sunday afternoons are essential to me. They're for doing all the things I wanted to do during the week, but couldn't. I grab coffee with my friends whom I haven't seen. How else would I catch up on missed TV, before rushing off to work in the evening? Or keep up with blogs/blogging? It gives me time to get ahead - or more realistically, catch up - on my coursework. I'd be lost without Sunday trading. So here are today's Sunday afternoon essentials. 1. The Social Network Original Soundtrack - Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross. I've been listening a lot to the Social Network soundtrack. It's become a sort of study buddy for me, while I'm doing assignments. Amazing soundtrack. 2. Green rose ring from Camden Markets. Basics plus accessories are a winning combination on lazy Sundays. I'm into a heavy ring phase at the moment. Double-rings, specifically. But I thought I'd bring out one from my travels because I'm missing it badly, to be honest. 3. Libby Satchel, in Mushroom - Witchery. I'm in love with my new bag from Witchery. An obvious copy of the PS1, I know. It's such a perfect size bag though. I had it on lay-by for a month before picking it up today. It was a long wait. 4. Style Manual for authors, editors, and printers. Sixth Edition. This has become a sort of bible for me while I'm doing specific assignments. I really should be using it now, because I'm sure about forty percent of my writing on this blog is grammatically incorrect. Safe to say that when it comes to this blog though, it's all about style over syntax. 5. Harper's Bazaar April Issue. I've been moving a lot towards Harper's Bazaar lately, and away from Shop Till You Drop. I always thought it was aimed at women a little older than me, but that's not the case at all. I'm more and more disappointed with Shop these days. Which is evidently more of a book of store catalogs  than an actual fashion magazine. Anyways, moving on from all this. Its also become apparent to me this week, that I've lost the capacity to sleep-in. I woke up this morning, well rested, at eight o'clock. Eight o'clock! This is madness. But I love it. Alright, I'm going to be late for work if I don't go, right now. Bye! 

Brick By Brick

It's been two years since Humbug but finally Arctic Monkeys have released a new song, "Brick By Brick" (though according to drummer, Matt Helders, it won't be a single). Their new album called, wait for it... Suck It and See, will again be produced by James Ford. I'm a huge, long-time fan so this was particularly exciting for me. The Verdict? The song's a decent tune, but sounds a little like left-overs from Humbug. I know for some people Humbug was too big of a departure from their first two albums, but when given the chance, it really grows on you. It became one of my favourite albums. Will this grow on me? Not likely. There's not enough going on. Alex Turner is one of the most interesting lyricists/songwriters of my generation. Lyrically, this just feels lazy. Love this band, and all their albums so far, but this is disappointing. The music video's quite good, but I guess that's the problem... it's better than the song. I'll be ready and waiting for June when their new album is set to be released, but let's hope they deliver something else and surprise us all. Don't let me down boys!
